Ultrasonic time difference measurement method refers to the measurement method of fluid flow along the flow direction of the fluid average velocity by using the time difference of two ultrasonic signals propagating in the same stroke of the flowing fluid.

On the basis of the original flow meter, temperature sensor and temperature integrated module are installed. The matched temperature sensor is installed in the inlet and outlet positions of the cold (hot) quantity exchange loop respectively, which is used to collect the temperature signal of the inlet and outlet. The temperature difference is calculated by the integrated calculation module to obtain the value of the cold (heat) energy released or absorbed by the heat carrying or cooling medium from the inlet to the outlet.

Ultrasonic heat and cold meters are mostly used to measure the heat released or absorbed by the heat exchange system with water as the medium, which can be used for heating supply and can also be used in air conditioning refrigeration systems.

Installation
 
Before installing the ultrasonic flowmeter, you first need to select a suitable installation location. The proper installation position should meet the following requirements:
1. The measuring section should be selected in the straight pipe section to avoid interference with fluid flow caused by elbow and pump outlet;
2. The upstream and downstream of the measurement section should maintain a certain length of the straight pipe section to ensure the stability of the fluid;
3. Select a vibration-free, noise-free and corrosion-free environment to ensure the normal operation of the ultrasonic sensor.

Install sensors and converters

1. The ultrasonic sensor is installed on the selected measurement section, generally installed on the side wall of the pipeline;
2. Use a suitable fixing device to fix the sensor on the pipeline to ensure the tightness of the sensor and the pipeline;
3. Connect the cable between the sensor and the converter, and keep the cable intact and waterproof.

Connect the power and signal cables

1. Connect the power cord and ground wire of the converter, and ensure the stability of the power supply;
2. Connect the output signal line of the converter to the corresponding display instrument or recorder.

Commissioning and calibration
1. After installation, it is necessary to debug and calibrate the ultrasonic flowmeter to ensure the accuracy of the measurement results;
2. According to the operation instruction of ultrasonic flowmeter, set relevant parameters and carry out zero calibration and range calibration;
3. Flow calibration can be performed using standard equipment with known flow rates, or using other flow meters for comparison measurements.

Matters needing attention

1. During the installation process, attention should be paid to avoid collision and damage of the ultrasonic sensor;
2. Regularly check the cleaning status of the ultrasonic sensor and remove dirt and oxides attached to the surface of the sensor in time;
3. Pay attention to the tightness between the sensor and the pipeline to prevent leakage;
4. Avoid external interference of ultrasonic sensors, such as electromagnetic interference and vibration interference.
