DN300 oxygen flowmeter how to select, choose which flowmeter

The diameter of the pipeline is 300mm oxygen pipeline, normal temperature and atmospheric pressure, the large flow rate is 9000m3/h, the small flow rate is 900m3/h, and the meter head is required to display the instantaneous flow and cumulative flow, and the output of 4-20 mA current signal.

Oxygen is a colorless, odorless gas, the common elemental form of oxygen. Oxygen is required for the oxidation of hydrocarbons, for the treatment of wastewater, for rocket propellants, and for the breathing of animals and humans in aviation, aerospace and diving. Animal respiration, combustion, and all oxidation processes (including the decay of organic matter) consume oxygen.

Selection analysis
Several commonly used flowmeters that can measure oxygen are vortex flowmeters, target flowmeters, differential pressure flowmeters, metal tube float flowmeters and thermal gas mass flowmeters, let's pay attention to the analysis.

(1) Vortex flowmeter measures oxygen: it is not vibration resistant, the initial flow rate is high, and it can measure the medium with large flow rate, while oxygen is a small molecular gas, it can not measure its downline flow in the measurement, the flow range corresponding to the vortex DN300 caliber is: 4500 ~ 45000m3/h, in the selection of this flowmeter can not measure the flow rate below 4500 cubic meters per hour.

(2) Target flowmeter measurement of oxygen: This flowmeter mainly measures the medium for high viscosity, multiple impurities, easy to block, high temperature, low temperature, strong corrosion. Oxygen is a pure gas, a small molecule gas, and its flow rate is slow, and the target flowmeter does not meet its measurement characteristics.

(3) Differential pressure flowmeter (Bar-type series flowmeter, orifice plate, wedge type, nozzle, V cone, etc.) Measurement of oxygen: all belongs to a throttling device, measurement through the pressure port to take pressure, and then through the transmitter into the flow signal output, in the conversion of flow signal process, the transmitter is prone to zero drift, flow stability is difficult to ensure. The pressure loss is larger than other flowmeters, and it is difficult to accurately measure at low pressure and low flow rate. Easy to dirty and easy to block, large maintenance, can do general process control, without any interference on site, its accuracy is greater than 2.5%, large pipe diameter installation time-consuming and laborious.

(4) Metal tube float flowmeter measures oxygen: This flowmeter is a mechanical flowmeter designed to measure small flow gas, with a measurement accuracy of 2.5%. It has no advantage in measuring large pipe diameter, hydrogen and oxygen. The flow range of DN300 is 600 ~ 6000m3/h, and the flow limit can only reach 6000 cubic meters per hour, which cannot meet the on-site flow rate. Large diameters are expensive and troublesome to install.

(5) The thermal gas mass flowmeter measures oxygen: before leaving the factory, the forbidden oil degreasing treatment has been done to ensure the reliable use of the flowmeter under the working environment. Its measuring range can be 400-10000m3/h, can fully reach the required flow range, its own temperature and pressure compensation, high measurement accuracy, good stability, simple installation, no special maintenance, is a high-precision, maintenance-free gas flow meter.

Based on the above flowmeter analysis, it is recommended that users use thermal gas mass flowmeter. It has the following characteristics:
1. Real mass flowmeter, temperature and pressure compensation for gas flow measurement, easy and accurate measurement. The mass flow rate or standard volume flow rate of the gas can be obtained.
2. Wide range ratio, can measure the flow rate up to 100Nm/s to 0.1Nm/s gas, flow ratio of 1:100, can be used for gas leak detection.
3. The measuring medium is wide, and when measuring corrosive media, anti-corrosion sensors can be used to extend the service life of the flow meter and enhance high-precision reliability.
4. The sensor has no moving parts and pressure sensing parts, and is not affected by vibration on the measurement accuracy.
5. Easy installation and maintenance. It can be made into pipe segment type or insert type according to site requirements, reducing the amount of installation and construction. If site conditions permit, it can be installed and maintained without stopping production. (Special customization required)
6. Digital design. Overall digital circuit measurement, accurate measurement, easy maintenance.
7. RS-485 communication, or HART communication, can achieve factory automation and integration. Diversified power supply, 220VAC and 24VDC optional.
