With the development of China's west-east gas transmission project, the coverage of natural gas is more and more extensive, so the measurement of natural gas flowmeter has become an important link.

At present, the flow measurement of natural gas is mainly used in trade settlement, and the volume measurement of natural gas trade in China is basically the main measurement at this stage. At present, the flowmeter products for natural gas flow measurement are: gas waist wheel flowmeter, gas turbine flowmeter, precession vortex flowmeter, vortex flowmeter and so on. Let's make a simple comparison of these flowmeters.

1.gas waist wheel flowmeter: body waist wheel flowmeter, also known as Roots flowmeter, can not only be used to measure dry gas, but also to measure moisture (that is, associated gas).

Advantages: Insensitive to flow pulsation.

Disadvantages: The noise is larger when the waist wheel rotates at high speed.

2.gas turbine flowmeter: gas turbine flowmeter is currently used more frequently natural gas flow measurement instrument.
Advantages: simple structure, convenient installation; The overall size is relatively small; High precision; Good repeatability.
Disadvantages: high-speed rotation of the turbine, mechanical friction between the bearing and the shaft, and regular supply of lubricating oil. In addition, if the high-speed flow of gas contains large solid particles, it is easy to break the turbine blade, and the filter should be installed on the pipeline before the meter.

3.precession vortex flowmeter: precession vortex flowmeter is currently some small domestic natural gas distribution station commonly used flowmeter products.
Advantages: Wide operating temperature range; The range is large; Not affected by fluid temperature, pressure, density and viscosity; Strong applicability, in addition to containing larger particles or longer fiber impurities, generally do not need to install a filter; The upstream and downstream straight pipe segments have low requirements, and the upstream 4D and downstream 2D straight pipe segments can be used.
Disadvantages: the pressure loss is large, and secondly, it is more sensitive to pipeline vibration and electromagnetic interference, so it is recommended to buy a precession vortex flowmeter with anti-seismic and anti-interference performance.

4.vortex flowmeter: Vortex flowmeter is generally used in the internal assessment of natural gas and the measurement of energy consumption in industrial and mining enterprises.
Advantages: The overall structure design is reasonable, the dynamic measurement range is wide, the pressure loss is small; The main body of the instrument can be made of stainless steel, which is suitable for the measurement of corrosive media; Instrument has no moving parts, easy installation and maintenance.
Disadvantages: fear of vibration, fear of electromagnetic interference. It is recommended to choose a vortex street with good seismic resistance and anti-interference.
