Compressed air flow measurement selection method
2021-06-03
So far, there are more than 60 types of industrial flow meters, the reason why this is so, because there is no flow meter in history for any fluid, any range, any flow state and any conditions of use are used, flow meters have its specific applicability, but also have its limitations. If the flow meter is not selected properly, the flow is definitely not measured correctly. However, flow measurement is a complex technology, and the wide variety of flow meters, even for a certain application, the selection of a suitable flow meter becomes a highly technical work, requiring careful and in-depth consideration and balance of many factors related to the measurement problem before making a final choice.
When choosing a flow meter, five main factors should be considered: the characteristics of the flow body being measured, the production process, installation conditions, maintenance needs, and the characteristics of the flow meter. For compressed air flow measurement, the above five factors should also be considered. Here, the characteristics, installation conditions, maintenance requirements and some problems that should be paid attention to when choosing flow meters are discussed.
At present, the main instruments for measuring the flow of compressed air flowmeter are vortex flowmeter, differential pressure type (orifice plate, uniform pitot tube, bent tube) flowmeter, shunt rotor flowmeter, Aniuba flowmeter, float flowmeter, etc., here mainly discuss vortex flowmeter, orifice plate flowmeter and bent tube flowmeter.
Vortex flowmeter
Vortex flowmeter is a new flowmeter based on the Karman vortex principle. Because it has the advantages that other flowmeters cannot have, it has been developed rapidly since the 1970s. According to reports, the proportion of vortex flowmeters used in developed countries such as Japan, Europe and the United States has risen significantly, and has been widely used in various fields, which will dominate in the future flow meter, and is an ideal alternative to orifice flowmeters. It has the following characteristics:
① The structure is simple and firm, no moving parts, long-term operation is very reliable;
The maintenance is very convenient, the installation cost is low;
③ The sensor does not directly contact the medium, stable performance, long life;
④ The output is proportional to the flow of the pulse signal, no zero drift, high accuracy, and easy to network with the computer;
⑤ Wide measuring range, range ratio up to 1:10
⑥ Small pressure loss, low operating costs, more energy saving significance;
⑦ Within a certain range of Reynolds number, the output signal frequency is not affected by the physical properties and composition of the fluid, the instrument coefficient is only related to the shape and size of the vortex generator, the volume flow of the measurement fluid does not need to be compensated, and the coefficient of the instrument does not need to be re-calibrated after the replacement of the parts;
⑧ Wide range of applications, gas, liquid flow can be measured;
⑨ The verification cycle is 2-4 years.
