Gas turbine flowmeter in the selection of aspects to consider

2021-06-02

The following points should be noted when selecting a gas turbine flowmeter:

Medium requirements: Chemical corrosion and scaling, the chemistry of the fluid is sometimes a determining factor in the selection of measurement methods and instruments. Some fluids can cause corrosion of instrument touch parts, surface scaling or electrolytic chemical action on the surface of separated crystalline metal.

Measurement intention: It is required to select gas turbine flowmeter with instantaneous flow is still cumulative flow, flow display unit, measurement accuracy, repeatability, linearity, flow scale and scale, measurement temperature, pressure loss, temperature and pressure compensation, output signal characteristics and response time. Different measurement objects have their own measurement intentions, and there are different side points in the performance of turbine flowmeters.

Accuracy requirements: The need to clarify the overall measurement accuracy requirements and is used under a specific flow rate, is still in the volume scale due to temperature and pressure changes have significant changes, its value is generally low, and the difference between various gases is small.

Medium phase composition: According to whether the measuring medium is a single phase change medium or whether the measuring medium is multi-phase and multi-component activities should be treated with caution. Turbine flowmeter measures a single clean medium, and electromagnetic flowmeter can measure solid-liquid two-phase mixed media.

Other requirements: Gas turbine flowmeter measurement gas needs to know the compression coefficient value to obtain the fluid density under working conditions. The density of fluid with fixed composition is calculated by pressure, temperature and compression coefficient. For fluids with changing composition and operating near the supercritical zone, on-line density measurement should be considered.
