Application of gas turbine flowmeter for natural gas measurement

Natural gas as a clean energy source is the focus of attention and, with the complete modernization of the urban gas network, the scientific and accurate measurement of natural gas is very important for commercial agglomerations. Because of repeatability, zero-point drift, range ratio, accuracy and other aspects, the turbine flowmeter offers considerable advantages and has become a widely used velocity meter. In addition to natural gas measurement, the turbine flowmeter is also used in the oil industry, metallurgy, scientific research, the chemical industry, aviation and other sectors.
When natural gas enters the flowmeter, the internal conductive fluid first passes through the flowmeter's special gas turbine structure and is accelerated. Under the effect of the fluid, the turbine blades and the direction of fluid flow form a certain angle, after which the turbine generates a torque that must overcome the resisting torque and the friction torque to turn the turbine. When the torque, resistive torque and frictional torque balance out, the turbine speed reaches a constant state. What's more, turbine speed is linearly related to flow velocity. The turbine speed is slowed down by the gear and, at the same time, the rotational tendency is transmitted to the mechanical counter outside the device by the sealed magnetic coupling. And then use the principle of electromagnetic induction, by the rotating turbine blade up conductor magnet periodically change the magnetic resistance, so that in the coil at both ends of the induction and fluid flow is proportional to the pulse signal, measuring the frequency of the pulse signal will obtain the value of flow. The turbine flowmeter is generally used in combination with a flow computer, which contains temperature, pulse, pressure determination channels and is equipped with various communication interfaces.

Gas turbine flowmeters are equipped with the latest microprocessors and powerful integrated chips, offering high calculation accuracy. Operation can be excellent, powerful machine, and the use of micro-energy technology low power consumption, internal battery can rely on long-term power supply, but also by external power supply, new gas turbine flowmeter sensors have small pressure losses, good seismic capability, high reliability, corrosion resistance, the starting flux is low, long life, etc.. depending on the frequency signal flow, the instrument coefficients can be automatically transformed into eight cor linear gas turbine flowmeters and using EEPROM data storage technology, with historical data storage and query function, three types of historical data recording methods for users to choose from, and simple and easy to install, the flowmeter head can be rotated 180°. The user can view the data flexibly and conveniently. Repeatability is good, short-term repeatability down to 0.05% to 0.2%, this is because of the good repeatability, in commercial regulation is the preferred choice of flowmeter.

For cases of higher accuracy, gas turbine flowmeter, gas turbine flowmeter installation should be sensitive to the distortion of pipeline velocity distribution and rotary flow, this can give full role of the voltage in the sensor, so it should be based on the type of sensor at the end of the flow restrictor, straight tube configuration required or rectifier. If the location of the upstream end of the flow restrictor is unclear, it is generally recommended that the upstream straight tube length be at least 2D and the downstream straight tube length at least 1D. If the installation space does not meet the above requirements, a flow control valve is installed between the flow restrictor and the sensor.
