With the rapid development of natural gas engineering in China, gas turbine flowmeter is widely used in the process of natural gas trade settlement. Before using the gas turbine flowmeter to measure the flow of natural gas, first install the turbine flowmeter, before installing the turbine flowmeter, to confirm that the gas pipeline is clean, and there is no water, dirt and other impurities that can cause damage to the turbine blade and the turbine flowmeter mechanical part, if the measured natural gas contains impurities, it is necessary to add filters to prevent damage to the turbine flowmeter. When installing the gas turbine flowmeter, it should be kept horizontal and try not to install it vertically. If the natural gas pipeline contains water, the turbine flowmeter should be placed at an Angle to ensure that natural gas can come out of the flowmeter. The transmission direction of natural gas shall be consistent with the direction marked on the turbine flowmeter, and shall not be installed in the opposite direction. It is generally recommended to add a straight pipe at the inlet and outlet of the turbine flow meter, and the length of the inlet end is not less than 10 times the inner diameter of the pipe section, and the length of the outlet end is not less than 5 times the inner diameter of the pipe section, or a rectifier can be installed between the choke device and the turbine flow meter.

When natural gas enters the flow meter, it first passes through the special structure of the leading fluid inside the gas turbine flowmeter and accelerates. Under the action of fluid, turbine blades will form a certain Angle with the flow direction of fluid, and then the turbine will generate rotational torque, which can only drive the turbine to start rotating after overcoming the resistance torque and friction torque. When the rotational torque, resistance torque and friction torque are balanced, the speed of the turbine will be constant. Moreover, there is a linear relationship between turbine rotation speed and flow rate. The speed of the impeller is decelerated by a pair of gears, while a sealed magnetic coupler transmits the rotating trend to a mechanical counter outside the instrument. By using the principle of electromagnetic induction, the magneto at the tip of the rotating turbine blade periodically changes the reluctance, so as to induce a pulse signal proportional to the volume flow of the fluid at both ends of the coil, and measure the frequency of the pulse signal to get the flow size. The turbine flowmeter should be used in conjunction with the flow computer, which contains temperature, pulse and pressure detection channels and is equipped with various communication interfaces.

Due to the influence of various factors, there are still some problems in the actual application of turbine flowmeter. Common problems are: no signal, running speed is slow and fast, turbine flowmeter does not count, negative deviation increases (accuracy decreases), and the design flow does not match the actual flow, and so on. In response to the above problems, the following suggestions can be made:

(1) For the case of no signal, first check the power supply, check the power supply is no problem, and then check the turbine flow meter itself, and determine whether it is the fault of the primary instrument or the secondary instrument, if the secondary instrument has no problem, check whether the signal line is correctly connected, if there is still no signal output, it may be that the flow rate of the fluid is too slow or the sensor has a problem. The signal cannot be detected.


(2) for the running speed is slow and fast, first of all, you can control the speed by adjusting the instrument coefficient, if the instrument coefficient changes greatly, you can also check whether the depth of the insert rod is appropriate, in most cases, because the impeller can not operate, the flow meter contains dirt, you can use hydrochloric acid to clean the dirt.

(3) For the case that the turbine flow meter does not count, it may be caused by poor contact of the power supply or switch, so it is necessary to check the internal devices of the turbine flow meter to check whether each component is faulty. If there is a fault, it is necessary to repair or replace the parts in time.

(4) As a speed flowmeter, with the increase of running time (usually after two years of operation), the internal bearing will gradually wear, which is easy to cause the impeller speed to slow down (compared with normal), and the negative deviation of measurement increases, resulting in less measurement phenomenon, which has a particularly prominent impact on the measurement of large flow. Suggested improvement methods: actively communicate with manufacturers and agents, carry out targeted maintenance or simply replace bearings regularly.

(5) considering that in the specific production, often encounter the design flow and the actual flow does not match the problem: either the design flow is too large, the starting flow is high, and the small flow can not be measured normally or even not measured after production (commonly known as "big horse car"); Either the design flow is too small, resulting in overload operation or even damage to the flow meter (commonly known as "small horse taxi"). To avoid the occurrence of the above problems, it is necessary to fully grasp the load of downstream gas units and gas equipment before the instrument selection, taking into account the relevant influencing factors; At the same time, the meter should be adjusted accordingly with the change of gas usage in operation. These are also an important means to control the loss margin.
