The principle of gas turbine flowmeter is that the gas acts on the turbine blade through the inlet channel, and the impulse force of the gas makes the turbine of the flowmeter rotate in the flow path. In a certain flow range, the number of revolutions of the turbine is proportional to the volume of the gas flowing through. The impeller is a movable part that can be rotated.

The principle of the precession vortex flowmeter is that the gas is forced to rotate and accelerate after passing through the spiral generator, forming a vortex, and the center of the vortex is the vortex core. The accelerated vortex slows down sharply after entering the expansion section, and the pressure rises to produce reflux. Under the action of reflux, the vortex core makes spiral precession around the axis line of the flow meter. The flow rate can be derived by measuring the vortex precession frequency by sensing the sensitive element. The vortex generator is an immovable component. Isn't this similar to the principle of a vortex flowmeter?

The principle and structure of the two instruments determine their use characteristics: the gas turbine flowmeter has good resistance to pipeline vibration, but it has high requirements for the cleanliness of the medium, and improper use will affect the measurement accuracy and even damage the instrument. Precession vortex flowmeter and vortex flowmeter are susceptible to pipeline vibration, and the medium cleanliness is not high, and it is not easy to damage.

Other performance comparison:

1.pressure loss: gas turbine pressure loss is small, suitable for low-pressure conveying occasions, precession vortex pressure loss is large.

2.flow range: gas turbine range is wide, suitable for occasions with large flow changes, precession vortex flow range is medium, suitable for occasions with little flow changes.

3.application: At present, Europe and the United States use gas turbine flowmeters more, foreign almost rarely use precession vortex flowmeters, domestic precession vortex flowmeters in the measurement of natural gas flow is still more widely used.
