How to choose the right thermal mass flowmeter?

2024-04-15
Thermal gas mass flow meter is a special flow meter for gas mass measurement. Its principle is based on the principle of thermal diffusion and is designed by using constant temperature difference method. With wide range ratio, small pressure loss, high precision, no temperature and pressure compensation can directly measure gas standard flow and other flowmeters do not have the characteristics, widely used, including petroleum, new energy, environmental protection, electric power, pharmaceutical, chemical, light industry and other industries.

The thermal gas mass flowmeter is a gas measuring instrument with many advantages and various forms. When the field pipeline is of large diameter, the plug-in gas mass flowmeter can be selected, which is convenient for follow-up maintenance, disassembly and maintenance. The power supply mode is also diverse, 24V and 220V can be selected. However, thermal gas mass flowmeters are not suitable for all occasions. Therefore, before selecting the flowmeter, it is necessary to confirm whether some technical parameters on the site meet the applicable thermal gas mass flowmeter.

1.the medium: thermal gas mass flowmeter is used to measure the gas mass flowmeter instrument, it can be said that it can measure almost all the single gas medium (only acetylene can not be measured), but some on-site actual measurement site will have a lot of mixed gas need to be measured, in the selection of thermal gas mass flow timing on the mixture will have certain requirements. Since all gas flow meter calibration uses air as the measured medium, a single medium can find the standard conversion factor. However, the mixed gas needs to be converted according to the percentage of the composition of the measured medium in the field. When the composition of the medium changes during the measurement, the measurement error of the flowmeter will be increased, so the measurement medium should also be calibrated in detail when selecting the type.

2. Pressure: Hot gas mass flowmeter is generally suitable for medium pressure in the range of 4.0MPa. Because the medium of the thermal gas mass flowmeter is generally high in heat, when the field pressure is too high, the medium carries too much heat in the unit volume, under the influence of the compression system and the reflection rate, the measured value of the instrument will be less than the actual value. Therefore, the on-site pressure of the thermal gas mass flowmeter in the selection stage should also be standardized in place.

3. Temperature: Because the principle of thermal gas mass flowmeter is based on the principle of thermal diffusion, the probe of the instrument is based on the temperature of the measured medium to determine the heating temperature of the probe, the general heating temperature of the probe is 50 degrees higher than the temperature of the medium. It can be seen that the temperature of the measured medium is relatively constant when the flowmeter is normally measured, and the heating current is proportional to the flow rate of the medium at this time. When measuring high temperature media, the test is that the temperature resistance of the instrument sensor should be high, and the power consumption of the whole circuit becomes larger when measuring high temperature media. At present, the high temperature resistance of the thermal gas mass flowmeter can reach 400, which can meet the technical requirements of most working conditions.

In addition, it is necessary to provide as complete as possible working condition data and some technical requirements, flow range, measuring medium, pipe diameter, pipe material, working pressure, working temperature, working environment temperature, signal power requirements, accuracy level and other important parameters.
