The influence of insufficient straight pipe section in front and back of electromagnetic flowmeter on measurement results
2023-12-13
Insufficient straight pipe section at the front and back of the electromagnetic flowmeter may have the following effects on the measurement results:
1. Fluid disturbance:
When the electromagnetic flowmeter is installed in the elbow and the front straight pipe section downstream of the gate valve is insufficient, the fluid may be disturbed, resulting in instability and error of the measurement results.
2. Velocity distribution distortion:
The electromagnetic flowmeter has certain requirements on the length of the front and back straight pipe section, and improper installation will cause the distortion and change of the fluid velocity distribution, destroy the axial symmetry of the flow rate, and thus affect the accuracy of the measurement results.
3. Measurement error:
Due to the insufficient rear straight pipe section, the flow of fluid in the pipe may be disturbed, resulting in an uneven flow rate distribution, which affects the measurement results of the electromagnetic flowmeter. This disturbance can cause deviations in the measurement results, making the flow measurement inaccurate.
4. Decreased stability:
The instability of the back straight pipe segment may lead to fluid flow instability in the pipe, which may affect the measurement results of the electromagnetic flowmeter. In the case of unstable flow, the measurement results of the electromagnetic flowmeter may fluctuate or change, which reduces the reliability of the flow measurement.
Therefore, in order to ensure the accurate measurement of the electromagnetic flowmeter, it is necessary to ensure that the length of the straight pipe section before and after it meets the requirements to avoid the influence of fluid disturbance and velocity distribution distortion on the measurement results. At the same time, for the shortage of the rear straight pipe section, measures can be considered such as increasing the length of the straight pipe section and changing the pipeline structure to improve the flow rate distribution and flow stability, so as to improve the measurement accuracy and stability of the electromagnetic flowmeter.
