What flow meter is used to measure lubricating oil?

2024-07-17
When measuring lubricating oil, the following flowmeters can be considered:

Oval Gear Flow Meter:
Principle: The elliptic gear flowmeter uses a pair of meshing elliptic gear and its housing (measuring chamber) to form the measuring part. The measured liquid enters the flow time through the pipeline. Due to the pressure difference generated at the inlet and outlet, the gear is continuously rotated, and the measured medium is discharged from the inlet to the outlet once and again in the unit of half-moon volume. The flow rate is derived by measuring the rotation speed of the gear.
Features: Especially suitable for heavy oil, polyvinyl alcohol, resin and other high viscosity medium flow measurement, suitable for precision continuous or intermittent measurement of liquid flow in the pipeline or instantaneous flow.

Magnetic Flap Flow Meter:
Principle: The magnetic spring structure of the flip plate is triggered by the rotation of the float ball, and the electric pulse is generated for the measurement and control of the flow rate.
Features: Suitable for the measurement of low viscosity liquids, such as fuel oil, lubricating oil and mineral oil. With advanced design and simple operation, it is widely used in industrial fields.

Turbine Flow Meter:
Principle: Through the interaction between the turbine blade and the medium fluid, driven by the fluid force, the turbine blade rotates, and the flow difference between the inlet and the outlet is measured.
Features: Can directly measure the flow, suitable for gas and liquid flow measurement. Compared with the magnetic flap flowmeter, it can accurately measure high-viscosity liquids and is more suitable for measurement under high pressure.

In the selection, it is necessary to choose the most suitable flowmeter type according to the viscosity of the lubricating oil, flow range, measurement accuracy, working pressure, temperature and other factors.
