Summary of typical wrong installation of radar level meter

2024-05-07
Although the installation and debugging of the radar level meter is simple, it will still encounter some wrong installation methods. The following summarizes some common installation methods that we often encounter, to help you in the debugging and installation of the radar, more handy.

1. Close to the feed port

Often meet friends who are new to radar, in the process of installation, the installation position of the radar is too close to the feed port, resulting in inaccurate liquid level measurement during use. Because it is close to the feed port, the feed will greatly interfere with the radar media propagation and reflection, so we should try to stay away from the feed port when installing.

2. The round tank is installed in the center

Radar level meter is a non-contact type of level meter. Due to the existence of beam Angle, it should be as far away from the pipe wall as possible when it is installed. However, when it needs to be installed in a round or arched tank, the installation position cannot be installed in the top middle of the tank. Multiple echoes may be larger than the signal threshold for true echoes because multiple echoes can be concentrated through the top. Therefore, it cannot be installed in a central location.

3. Radar penetration is not deep enough

At the time of installation, we need to weld the short connector on site, but we often do not pay attention to the length of the short connector, thinking that it is just a fixed function, and everything is fine under the welding, resulting in the radar level meter probe is still in the short connector, resulting in inaccurate liquid level measurement, the displayed liquid level is much larger than the actual value, and does not change with the height of the liquid surface. Therefore, at this time, we must pay attention to the fact that after the radar level meter is installed, the probe must be extended into the inside of the tank and the distance is at least 10mm to ensure the normal operation of the radar level meter.
