Asphalt Flow Meter

2024-07-15
The selection of asphalt flowmeters usually depends on factors such as the viscosity, temperature, pressure of the asphalt and the required measurement accuracy. Here are some common types of asphalt flowmeters and their characteristics:

1. Oval Gear Flow Meter: This flowmeter is suitable for the flow measurement of high viscosity media, such as asphalt. It has high measurement accuracy and is less affected by liquid viscosity. The advantage of the elliptical gear flowmeter is high measurement accuracy, but it is not suitable for fluids containing solid particles, because solid particles can get stuck in the gear, resulting in an inability to measure flow.
2. Vortex Asphalt Flow Meter: Based on the measurement principle of turbine rotor, vortex asphalt flowmeter is suitable for asphalt flow measurement in harsh environments such as high temperature and high pressure. It has the characteristics of high precision, good stability, fast reaction speed, etc., and can cooperate with digital control system to realize automatic control.
3. Ultrasonic Asphalt Flow Meter: Ultrasonic asphalt flowmeter adopts ultrasonic sensing technology, with non-contact measurement, wide measurement range, accurate and reliable measurement results, not affected by liquid flow state and other advantages. It is suitable for bitumen flow measurement of various viscosity, and it is easy to operate and easy to maintain.

When choosing the asphalt flow meter, the following matters need to be noted:
Measuring range: Ensure that the measuring range of the selected flowmeter can cover the actual range of asphalt flow.
Accuracy requirements: Determine the measuring accuracy of the flowmeter according to actual needs.
Installation environment: Consider the installation environment of the flow meter, such as temperature, pressure and other factors on the performance of the flow meter.
Maintenance and calibration: Understand flowmeter maintenance and calibration requirements to ensure accuracy and reliability in long-term use.
Cost and budget: Consider the purchase cost and long-term use cost of the flowmeter, as well as budget constraints.

In the installation of asphalt flow meter, also need to pay attention to the following matters:
Installation direction: Ensure that the flow meter is installed in the same direction as the liquid flow.
Installation position: The flow meter should be installed on the straight section of the asphalt flow, avoid installing parts before and after the flow meter that may change the flow state of the fluid, such as valves, elbows, etc.
Pipe cleaning: Before installation, ensure that the pipe is thoroughly cleaned to avoid impurities affecting the measurement accuracy.
Zero setting: After the installation is complete, set the value to zero correctly.
Temperature and pressure: The temperature and pressure of the asphalt to be measured should be within the measuring range of the flowmeter to avoid exceeding its working limit.
In short, choosing the right asphalt flowmeter and following the correct installation and use precautions can ensure accurate measurement of asphalt flow and long-term stable operation.
