Electromagnetic Flow Meter common faults and troubleshooting
2024-04-11
Electromagnetic flow meter as an industrial electronic sensor equipment, in the process of use, it is inevitable that there will be some equipment failure problems, then when the electromagnetic flowmeter failure, we are under normal circumstances to analyze which part of the problem, and then for the problem to find a solution to the problem.
1. Electromagnetic flowmeter has no flow output
In this case, first check the power supply of the instrument to see if there is a power failure, if there is no power failure, you need to check the fuse to ensure that the fuse is on, after removing the power problem, you can further check whether the arrow of the sensor is consistent with the flow direction of the fluid, if not, you need to replace the installation direction of the sensor. Finally, you can check whether the sensor is full of fluid, if there is no fluid in the sensor, you need to replace the pipe or change the installation method, you can try to use the vertical installation.
2. The signal of the electromagnetic flowmeter is getting smaller or the signal suddenly drops
When such a failure occurs, the insulator between the electrodes can be tested to check whether the insulator is damaged or short circuit occurs. Generally, the normal value of the resistance between the two electrodes is between 70 and 100Ω. Another reason may be that the inner wall of the measuring tube is scaled. The lining should be replaced if it is damaged.
3. The zero point of electromagnetic flowmeter is unstable
It is necessary to check whether the medium is full of the pipeline and whether there are bubbles in the medium. If there are bubbles, install the air absorber upstream of the bubble, and install the instrument horizontally or vertically. Check whether the instrument is well grounded. The conductivity of the conductive medium should not be less than 5μs/cm. If the medium is silted in the measuring tube, it should also be removed in time to avoid scratching the lining.
4. The indicating value of the electromagnetic flowmeter is inconsistent with the actual value
Check whether the fluid in the sensor is filled with tubes and there are no bubbles. If there are bubbles, an air eliminator can be installed upstream; Check whether the grounding condition is good, check whether there is a valve upstream of the flow meter, if so, move to the downstream or make it fully open, check whether the converter range setting is correct, if not, reset the correct range.
5. The value of the electromagnetic flowmeter fluctuates in a certain range
It is necessary to check whether the environmental conditions have changed, such as new interference sources and other magnetic sources or vibrations that affect the normal operation of the instrument, and so on, the interference should be removed in time or the flow meter should be shifted; Check and test signal cables. Treat the ends with insulation tape so that the wires, inner shielding layer, outer shielding layer and shell do not contact each other.
The above are the 5 typical faults of electromagnetic flowmeters listed by Aister for everyone. You can also contact the manufacturer to provide technical help, our email:sales@aistermeter.com
