Roots flowmeter installation requirements and precautions

2023-12-06
The following 8 requirements need to be paid attention to when installing the Roots Flowmeter

Tip 1, installation position
1, Roots flowmeter should be installed on the center line of the pipeline to ensure that the length of the upstream and downstream straight pipe section of the flowmeter meets the requirements.
2, should avoid installation in the pipeline bend, valve, slit branch pipe and other flow blocked position.
3, if installed on the vertical pipe, it should be ensured that the sensor part of the flow meter is on to prevent the impact of sediment and bubbles on the measurement accuracy.

Tip 2, installation method
1, the Roots flow meter can be installed horizontally or vertically, but it should be ensured that during the installation process, the axis of the flow meter is perpendicular to the horizontal plane to prevent liquid accumulation in the pipeline.
2, During the installation process, attention should be paid to protecting the sensor part of the flow meter to avoid any form of mechanical impact or pressure so as not to affect the measurement accuracy.

Tip 3, clean the pipeline
1, before installation, the pipeline should be cleaned to remove impurities, dirt and rust in the pipeline.
2, ensure that the inside of the pipeline is smooth, no protrusions or depressions, so as not to affect the flow of fluid and measurement accuracy.

Tip 4, sealing

1, the connection part of the Roots flow meter should ensure good sealing to prevent fluid leakage.
2, in the installation process, should use the appropriate tools and materials, such as wrenches, sealant, etc., to ensure tightness

Tip 5, fixed
1, the Roots flowmeter should be firmly fixed on the pipeline to prevent loosening or vibration during operation.
2, the flow meter can be fixed on the pipeline using brackets, bolts and other components.

Tip 6, signal connection
1, depending on the type and specifications of the flow meter, it may be necessary to connect the signal to the control system. Therefore, during the installation process, the signal line should be properly connected and protected.
2, depending on the need, it may be necessary to use a shielded cable or fiber optic cable to protect the signal line from electromagnetic interference.

Tip 7, debugging and calibration
1, after the installation is completed, the Roots flowmeter should be debugging and calibration to ensure that its measurement accuracy meets the requirements.
2, if it is found that the measuring accuracy of the flowmeter does not meet the requirements, it should be adjusted or repaired according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

Tip 8, maintenance
1, the Roots flow meter should be regularly maintained, including cleaning, lubrication and inspection
2, in the maintenance process, attention should be paid to protect the sensor part of the flow meter to avoid any form of mechanical impact or pressure.
