Vortex flow metersare one of the main types of flow measurement devices used worldwide. Due to their advantages, they have been widely applied in various fields. Vortex flowmeters are suitable for measuring the flow of steam, compressed air, general gases, and liquids. I.Classification
There are different ways to classify instruments from different aspects. Some are classified by layout, some by detection methods, and some by use. Vortex flowmeters are no exception. Let's classify vortex flowmeters from different angles
1.Classification by layout form
According to the layout, vortex flowmeters can be classified into integrated type and remote transmission type. Among them: Integrated vortex flowmeter: It integrates the sensor and the transmitter (including flow calculation and display unit). Remote (or separated) vortex flowmeter refers to the separation of instrument transmission and transmitter, which is suitable for special operating conditions, such as high-temperature vortex flowmeter.
2.Classification by detection technology
Based on different detection technologies, vortex flowmeters can be classified into thermal vortex flowmeters, ultrasonic vortex flowmeters, capacitive vortex flowmeters, stress vortex flowmeters, strain vortex flowmeters, magneto-electric (vibration) vortex flowmeters, photoelectric and fiber optic vortex flowmeters. Based on the different purposes of use, vortex flowmeters can also be classified into explosion-proof vortex flowmeters, high-temperature vortex flowmeters, ultra-low-temperature vortex flowmeters, corrosion-resistant vortex flowmeters, insertion vortex flowmeters, and mass vortex flowmeters.

Based on the functionality of the instrument, vortex flowmeters can be classified into conventional type and intelligent type. Its emergence reflects the rapid development of sensor technology, digital technology, and communication technology. This type of instrument is designed in an integrated manner in terms of layout.
