The difference between precession vortex flow meter and vortex flowmeter
Although the precession vortex flowmeter and vortex flowmeter are both flowmeters that use the principle of fluid oscillation, they use two different operating principles respectively.
Vortex flowmeters are flowmeters that use the Karman vortex principle: When the fluid passes through a cylindrical object, it will have a vortex on both sides of the object facing the fluid, when the vortex on one side will suppress the vortex on the other side, when the vortex develops to a certain degree, it will break away from the cylindrical object with the fluid and cause a new vortex to occur in situ, and the vortex on the other side will occur due to the loss of repression and suppress the new vortex. The process is replaced on both sides of the column, and the frequency of the attack is related to the flow rate of the fluid, which can be checked to obtain the flow rate, and then obtain the flow value. This scene is also called a vortex street because the replacement vortex is usually placed in the following fluid like objects on both sides of the road. Flowmeters that operate according to this principle are called vortex flowmeters.
Precession vortex flow meter principle: a set of distorted blades in the pipeline constitute a vortex attack device, so that the fluid through the attack rotation, and the formation of a vortex near the pipeline base line, the base of the vortex one side around the pipeline base line rotation, while traveling with the fluid while extending the rotation radius shape, making the vortex base into a similar conical spiral precession movement. At this time, regarding a point on the tube wall behind the vortex initiator, the velocity of the fluid flowing through will undergo a periodic change, and its frequency is related to the flow rate of the fluid, and the flow rate can be obtained by checking this frequency. Flowmeters that operate on this principle are called precession vortex flowmeters.
