In general, pay attention to the following aspects of the problem:

1. Considering the sensitivity of the detection element of the vortex flowmeter, the nominal diameter of the vortex flowmeter is selected according to the smaller flow rate (lower flow rate) of the vortex flowmeter in the instruction manual, that is, the lower limit of the flow rate of the vortex flowmeter should be smaller than the actual working condition;

2. In order to ensure the measurement accuracy of the vortex flowmeter, under the premise of meeting the measurement range, the vortex flowmeter should work in a linear region, that is, the smaller Reynolds number is not lower than the lower limit Reynolds number;

3. From the consideration of the large pressure loss of the vortex flowmeter, for liquids, the pressure loss generated by the vortex flowmeter at a large flow rate (that is, high flow rate) should also be calculated to ensure that the cavitation phenomenon will not occur when the working pressure is small.

These three aspects have their own emphases and bases. The path selected according to the first two considerations and the path calculated according to the third consideration may be contradictory, such as high flow rate and large pressure loss. In this case, you need to make a compromise according to the specific situation.

In addition, in order to make the instrument work stably, when determining the diameter of the vortex flowmeter, the common flow rate should be more than 30% of its measurable flow range, so that the common flow rate is in the range of 30% to 70% of the vortex flowmeter.
