3 reasons for inaccurate accuracy of vortex flow meter

For the increasingly high technical requirements of people now, vortex flowmeters are also improving and developing in response to the requirements. For its measurement problem, we today make a simple introduction to the problem that the accuracy of the vortex flowmeter will be inaccurate in combination with the actual situation:

1. Influence of vortex generating body onstream surface accumulation of vortex flowmeter

If there are viscous particles in the measured flow body, they may gradually accumulate on the flow surface of the vortex generating body, so that its geometry and size change, and therefore the flow coefficient changes accordingly, so pay attention to cleaning up in use.

2. Influence of temperature on measurement

The influence of temperature change on the geometry of the measuring body is composed of two parts, one is caused by the change of the width of the vortex generating body; The other is caused by changes in the internal meridian of the pipe. To eliminate this effect, the K coefficient is generally modified. At present, some manufacturers’ flowmeters have carried out fixed temperature correction and real-time temperature correction on the influence of temperature in the software.

3. The influence caused by the inconsistency between the tube flow meter and the inner flow meter

Generally, the internal warp of imported instruments is produced in accordance with foreign standards, while the domestic pipe warp is the domestic standard, the difference between the two is sometimes very large, for the pipe warp and the flow meter internal warp is inconsistent, can be divided into the following situations:

(1) When the actual internal diameter of the pipeline is greater than the internal diameter of the instrument, the difference between the two does not exceed 3% of the internal diameter of the flow meter, and the error caused by this is small, has no impact on the measurement, and can be corrected without modification.

(2) When the internal diameter of the pipeline is less than the internal diameter of the instrument, and the difference between the two does not exceed 2% of the internal diameter of the meter, the error is small, and can be compensated by correcting the instrument coefficient. (3) There is a large difference between the inner diameter of the vortex flowmeter pipe and the inner diameter of the instrument, and the fluid disturbance caused by the fluid passing through this mutation makes the measurement of the vortex flowmeter no longer stable and reliable, and the error caused by the vortex flowmeter cannot be compensated by correcting the K coefficient. At this time, it is necessary to install enough straight pipe sections consistent with the flow meter inside the flow meter before and after the flow meter or install a flow field optimization rectifier in front of the flow meter, but a certain straight pipe section is still required after the installation of the rectifier.
